We tend to be creatures of comfort. We like to know things, have a solid idea of what the future holds, or what the outcome will be before we even begin a venture. We all seek signifcance and security. We want to matter. We want to feel safe. Being a committed Christian doesn’t always fit that mold. While we seek security, stability, and significance-God desires for us to seek Him, to depend on Him and Him alone, to rely on Him, to trust Him, to love Him. In the Gospels, Jesus reminds us that we are to “Love the Lord, Our God, with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind, and with all our strength.” (Mark 12:30 NIV) No matter how much the seasons of our life change-God doesn’t. No matter how different the seasons God leads us into might be-God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. It is only when we are willing to completely and totally trust in Him that we can experience safety, security, and significance to their full God-sized potential.
