Celebrating Progress in 2018 | Moving Forward in 2019

I am happily celebrating the best year ever at The Devotional Guy™! Along with a 25% increase in visitors and a 15% increase in views, The Devotional Guy™ experienced a dramatic improvement in reader engagement, including a nearly 150% increase in “Likes” and a 108% rise in “Comments.” WOOHOO!!!

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)

“…give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

How did this happen?

For starters, I committed to posting more consistently and with greater frequency than in years past. I made creating posts a priority. To help with this, I employed the use of an editorial calendar to help me stay on track and keep my promise to myself to do what I could to grow The Devotional Guy™ blog.

Secondly, I engaged with fellow bloggers, visiting other blogs-especially ones with a similar niche to my own blog. This led to a growing community networking together, sharing ideas, and encouraging one another.

Last, but not least, I worked to make improvements to my blog over the course of the year, striving to make each post better than the post preceding it. I focused on making my posts relevant to my niche as a faith-based blogger by exploring and discussing topics I believed would interest my immediate audience.

Aspiring to inspire

What about blogging in 2019?

As I continue to learn more about blogging and improve as a blogger, I certainly have goals that I want to achieve. The Devotional Guy™ has come a long way since inception. Blogging is something I do because I feel inspired by the Lord to do it. With that in mind, I want to explore topics that are real to Christians living in the 21st century. I hope to invest more time in individual posts, addressing issues that impact the contemporary believer in his/her daily walk. Above all, I want to remain authentic in delivering a message of hope and stay true to the God I serve.

Bringing it Home

Of course, none of this would be possible without the Lord. He has been faithful to provide. I try to spend time praying for each of the people I come across via this blog. I believe prayer is an important component of The Devotional Guy™ blog.

How about you? Did you have a fruitful 2018 blogging? What do you hope to achieve in 2019 through your blog? I’d love to hear from you about your blogging journey in the comments section below. Let me know how I can be praying for you.

Blessings,

The Devotional Guy™

  1. I have appreciated following your writing during the past few weeks. I have only been writing for three months, but it has been a worthy journey. My blog is an outlet for my writing, but I am a writer first and a blogger second. I have enjoyed connecting with other people of faith here. My goals for 2019 revolve around faith, family, and health. If I keep these out in front of me, my writing will continue to grow and mature.

  2. I’m glad to hear your writing is going well and that you’ve been able to connect with like-minded people in the blogosphere. Do you write fiction or nonfiction? I started out as a writer first, blogger second but I believe in this season I’m a blogger first. I’m still working on a nonfiction faith book and some short fiction stories. Thank you for your encouragement. I hope you’ll continue reading my blog in 2019. Blessings.

  3. I write mostly poetry, but I have stretched myself with fictional short stories, travel pieces, and book reviews.
