Life is full of decisions. 2020 has definitely been a year of challenging decision-making, especially for people in leadership roles. Government, education, church, business, and community leaders all have had their decision-making mettle tested. Families have faced difficult situations requiring tough decisions amid an unexpected pandemic.
Scripture teaches us that God gives us the freedom to make choices. The Bible also offers us a rich treasure trove of verses that can help us make sound decisions. As Christians, the type of decisions we make should reflect our beliefs. We should strive to honor God in the way and manner with which we make decisions. Big decisions demand prayer. Regular time with the Lord combined with consistent study of His word help us stay in step with biblical decision-making principles.
We know from the many passages devoted to his story that when David sought the Lord first in making his decisions things typically turned out well. When David made decisions without involving the Lord, like when he pursued Bathsheba, things went haywire.
How has this year tested your decision-making?
Making decisions can require courage, be stressful, and test our patience. Whether or not the decisions we are making are big or small, Scripture offers words of guidance and encouragement.

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 12:15
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.

Thank you for the scriptures. Deut 31:6 spoke to me the most, as I’ve been dealing with a few older kids at school who frazzle me a bit.
Since COVID, my decision making has been more proactive. My wife and I keep more food (and other supplies) in the house, for instance. Blessings.

In my opinion covid has helped to focus my decision making process; everything gets a more thorough inspection nowadays whereas before they were done with no question. I suppose this means I took many things for granted, but not now.
