We are swimming in storms. Turbulent chaos appears to wait around the bend. Fear can swallow us whole as hope steers us to the nearest emergency exit.
What does it look like to blog during times of adversity?
Sure, you can choose to ignore the elephant in the room. Who’s to say this is your monkey anyway? You’re an innocent traveler just passing through this world on your way toward the next reality.
What does that look like for you?
We must all bloom for the season for which we are planted. Like the biblical heroine Esther, we are created for such a time as this. If you are a Christian blogger like me, then now is the time to speak. Now is the time to raise your voice up and do what the Lord has called and gifted you to do in order to advance His kingdom for His glory.
In recent weeks as has been true during the course of the pandemic, I’ve witnessed an increase in the chatter about the End Times. Many are wondering if we are indeed living in the Last Days.
My answer?
I honestly don’t know because I don’t think I am supposed to know. What I do know is that I should be living out the Gospel as if Christ’s return is imminent.

What does blogging amid adversity look like?
For me, as a Christian blogger, I am to share the Good News with all those whom I encounter, in person and virtually. I am here to share words of encouragement, conviction, and truth. I pray I am able to do that with each post I write and share here on WordPress.

We were created for “such a time as this.” Amen, brother! I’m a type A person who is always reaching for the stars. My wife has a favorite saying she brings out when I get a little too worked up. “David, you don’t have to be a hero to be effective.” This always serves as a reminder that, large or small, my contribution to God’s work still counts. We don’t have to do something epic every day to make a difference. For instance, when I restarted my blog (18 months ago), your site was one I looked to for guidance–about how to do it right.

Thanks for this encouraging word, David. I often wonder what it looks like to be a hero in God’s economy. It’s not a matter of doing something epic, but being faithful and obedient to His word, will, and call on our lives. If we will promote justice, love, and humility we are on our way to being a hero in the Lord’s eyes.
I am humbled (and honored) that someone would use my blog site as a guide to begin their own blog. As you know, blogging effectiveness is hard to measure because it goes far beyond likes, comments, and other standard metrics employed to measure if what we are doing is actually connecting with anyone.

Ranier, I appreciate your perspective about the coming of Christ. None of us truly knows the “when” as Scripture points out. I write a great deal about hope and faith, and I believe our Lord remains busy molding and shaping His creation. Tomorrow waits for us to discover what He’s been up to.
