Happy #Blogtober | 5 Benefits of Blogging Daily

Yesterday marked my 30th consecutive day publishing a post. Participating in #Blogtober has been educational and fun. After today, I have two more days left to complete the #Blogtober challenge.

Wouldn’t you know it, as I round the final turn, I suffer an injury? Yes, it’s true. Sitting on our couch Thursday night, working on my blog, I had to sneeze really, really hard. No doubt, this is due in large part to my chronic allergies. It’s not unusual for me to have to sneeze. It freaks our cats out so much that they scurry off out of fright. What was different about this time is that the sneeze jerked me up out from my seated position and twisted my body in such a way that I pulled a muscle in my lower back. I ain’t gonna lie. It hurts something awful.

But, I am determined to blog on…

This process has shown me several benefits. Here are 5 benefits that I have derived from blogging daily:

1. You work harder on maintaining your blog. Posting every day naturally causes you to become more immersed in your blog as well as the blogosphere (blogging community). Immersion breeds commitment. Commitment causes you to dig deeper and delve further. You become more focused and thus pay greater attention to detail.

2. You are challenged to dig deeper to create quality content. Creating content is hard work. Actually, it is a full time job engaging all your senses. You never know where a new idea for a post may come from.

3. You plan and work ahead. One thing I find myself doing is keeping a cue of posts in my draft folder. I try to carve out a period of intentional time where I will focus on creating content for the upcoming week.

Happy #Blogtober!

4. You realize you cannot do it alone so you spend time recruiting others to join you and inviting them to create content. The best part of my blogging adventure during #Blogtober has been inviting fellow bloggers to share my platform. And why wouldn’t I? After all, it’s a platform the Lord provided to advance His kingdom.

5. Being more engaged by publishing fresh content daily with your blog makes it more fun and rewarding. I have spent an afternoon here and a morning there working on content. While it has been challenging to come up with relevant and authentic content daily, it’s also been a joyful journey filled with personally rewarding blessings.

  1. One benefit of blogging consistently is it improves your writing ability. I’m still somewhat of a slow content producer, but
it’s gotten easier—over the past four years. I’ve enjoyed your Blogtober journey, Rainer. Two more days! Two more days!
Thank you for inviting me to join you. Blessings, my brother.

  2. Amen, brother. I agree, it does improve your writing overall. Thanks for joining on the journey. Posting daily is certainly challenging considering my day gig is pretty demanding. But it has been fun.

  4. Thank you, David! I am actually in the process of developing Monday’s post. It’s a little bittersweet moment but I am grateful. I am currently writing a post for Tuesday to kick off a month of thanksgiving and then I will probably let the fingers rest and the words percolate for a few days.

30 days in a row is an impressive accomplishment. In all honesty, I couldn’t say off the top of my head when I posted last but I know it’s been weeks.

Life got kinda crazy for me for a while but I have resolved to get back to blogging but will probably start with one or two posts a week.

Anyway, keep up the good work.

  6. Thanks James. It can be challenging. It’s a lot like going to the gym. Hard to get going, easy habit to break.

  7. I am so sorry you are hurt. I am praying for you. Thanks for sharing the picture of Jack. It’s funny because earlier today I was thinking to myself that “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” 😂 I have felt extra stress at work lately and had to handle some things today even though I should be off. So that is why that crossed my mind. So thank you for sharing that. You made me smile .😁

Isn’t it just like the enemy to try to trip you up in the homestretch of a month of powerful posts that glorify the Lord. Way to persevere! As someone who suffers with a bulging disc in my lower back I can completely relate to the discomfort you are feeling. Praying the Lord gives you strength and patience as He brings healing to that muscle !

Yes, it’s exactly like that. I know because I have stopped going to the gym as well. Guess I need to get busy.
