O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice;
in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.
Psalm 5:3 (ESV)
Heavenly Father, hear my prayer. May I listen for Your voice in the stillness of the morning. May my worship of You be a pleasing sacrifice whose aroma brings You delight. Help me see where You are at work, being attentive to those whom You bring into my sphere of influence. May I point them to Your precious Son, Jesus Christ through the way I conduct myself and interact with the people who surround me. May I bring glory to Your name for You are the one and only praiseworthy God, Ruler of All. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A prayer for the week ahead as we go about our lives. Many of us will be off to work. Others of us are going to school or spending the golden years of our retirement. Whatever stage you are in life, it’s good to take time to reflect and go to the Lord in prayer.
Father God, Lord, we love You and remain in awe of Your magnificent majesty. The beauty of Your works delights our hearts, inspires our minds, and ignites our souls. You are sovereign over everything Lord and we give You thanks and glory. We praise You for Your provision in each of our lives. We pray for those remembering the tragic events of the past today. We ask You to comfort those who are grieving and mourning. Ease their pain. Relieve their hurts. Let us not lose sights of Your goodness in the midst of Evil. We know we fight an enemy we cannot see. In You, we have victory. Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, we have eternal life in Your presence. Let us hold on to the future hope You have made possible for us. Father God, we thank You. May the Your Spirit continue to abide in us, molding us in the image of Your Son. It is in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Yes, it’s getting to be that time of year again. Sweet T and I have spent the last several weeks ramping up for the 2018 National Collection Week which is rapidly approaching. Mark your calendars, if you haven’t already, for November 12-November 19.
Last year, we collected and received over 12,100 shoebox gifts from all around Richardson and the surrounding North Dallas area. We pray for a 10% increase each year. That would put us over 13,000 shoeboxes this year.
Father God, we pray for Your provision in this incredible ministry reaching millions of children in over 100 countries. We ask that You watch over every detail so that each shoebox gift lands in the hands of exactly the right child. We pray for salvation and discipleship of all those who receive a shoebox gift this year. We ask that You shine Your favor over all those who pack and bring shoebox gifts and ask for Your special blessing for each of our OCC volunteers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
