It had been a rushed morning.
I found myself in our worship center setting up for our Staff Devotional and Morning Huddle. Every morning our team gathers and someone leads us in a brief devo and time of reflection and prayer. That’s followed by a quick report of what’s on the calendar that day in various departments and highlighting any big happenings.
This morning, as is often the case, I was downloading a video and cueing it up for one of our Care Ministers who was leading our morning session.
I realized that I needed to spend a few minutes in prayer and worship. So, I did.
I encourage you to take a moment at the beginning of your day to pause, pray, and worship.
Take time to align your heart, your mind and your soul with God. It’s crucial to walking your walk with Jesus. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself derailed halfway through your day oblivious to what hit you.
When that happens, remember that you can simply start your day over.
Today is my birthday. By God’s grace, I’ve officially made 58 trips around the Sun. Nearly 28 years into recovery, I’m starting to like the guy looking back at me in the mirror. It’s taken a minute to get here. I’m grateful for all the ways the Lord has been kind and good to me over these many years. I’m thankful for you.

Happy Birthday, brother, and congrats on 28 years of sobriety!
I’ve had a daily quiet time (morning) for about the past forty years, and definitely notice when I don’t. Yet, like you said, we can restart our day with God at any time.
