What Role Does Grace Play in Your Life?

As a Christian, the biblical doctrine of grace is essential to our lives.

Grace is a theological concept essential to Christianity. Grace refers to the belief that salvation a gift freely given by God, rather than a benefit earned by human effort. Salvation comes by the way of God’s unmerited favor and love, rather than being achieved by our good deeds.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV)

While different interpretations exist within Christianity, the doctrine of grace underscores the idea that God is merciful and and exceedingly generous toward humanity.

Never give a sword to a man who can’t dance.

Apart from grace, I’d be lost.

  1. I agree with you that we have free will. But I believe grace finds us not the other way around.

  2. True. However, it is also a case of Free Will.

  3. Certainly, walking in grateful obedience to God and His ways helps us on our road from salvation to sanctification to glorification. However, our salvation rests in Jesus’ faithfulness, not ours. We contribute nothing to our salvation aside from our sinfulness. God’s grace frees us from that bondage. Out of gratefulness and with a cheerful heart, we should be motivated to live a life with God, doing those things that bring Him glory and cause Him delight. We should do so freely and willingly, and not out of obligation.

  4. I agree with cjdsign. However, I have experienced issues with others views at times. Example:. “I am already saved and going to Heaven so it doesn’t matter if I abuse my body with Drugs or Alcohol.”. I believe we still need to work at Following God’s Rules in order to to wind up where God really wants us to go.

Good subject brother…we need all the grace we can get!
I see grace as Heaven’s Soap that cleanses me daily, but never reduces – hallelujah!
