Uvalde Revisited

Yesterday, Terri and I visited the State Fair of Texas. We partook in the usual fare, had a couple of corny dogs and some funnel cake, as we strolled through the Fairgrounds.

We saw several exhibits, including one devoted to Mexican-American culture. This exhibit was colorful and festive. But what set it apart —or what resonated deeply with both of us—was the memorial set up for the victims of the 2022 Robb Elementary school shooting in Uvalde, which killed 19 children and 2 teachers. There were 17 others who suffered injuries.

Regardless how you feel about guns and gun rights, it’s impossible to view the memorial and not be overwhelmed with the deep sadness surrounding this horrific tragedy. It’s just not right.

Memorial for Uvalde

Prayerfully,
