My 3 Tips for Growing Your Christian Blog

While I’ve covered a variety of topics over the past 1200+ posts, The Devotional Guy™ is a Christian blog focused on sharing insights on doing life as a Christian in a post-pandemic, post-2020 world.

Terri and I strive to live our lives with an eternal perspective forefront in our minds. We want to love God all out and we hope to love our neighbors well.

I began my blogging journey in late 2007/early 2008 after T and I rededicated our lives to Christ. My first blogging effort—Joshua’s Hope—primarily sought to evangelize and share Scripture.

My venture into digital media continued with the launching of The Devotional Guy™ blog near the end of 2013.

Over the years, I’ve learned a few things about blogging, as well as about sharing my life experiences from a Christian point of view.

Here are my 3 tips for growing your Christian blog:

  1. Collaborate: Blogging has taught me the importance and value of working with others. Partner with other bloggers or influencers for cross-promotion. Share blogs you like. Ask others to share yours.
  2. Know your audience: Understand your target audience’s interests and needs. I write a Christian blog, so sharing Buddhist mantras on this blog isn’t something that my audience is interested in. I try hard to keep the main thing the main thing, even though I’m tempted to wander off from time to time.
  3. Be patient: Building a successful blog takes time and consistent effort. The one thing that’s certain is that if you don’t write and publish blog posts, you won’t have anyone to read them. Growth in niche blogs is notoriously slow. Don’t fret. Continue creating content. Your audience will grow one post at a time…and so will your audience.

Those are my 3 tips for growing your Christian blog. I hope to share more in future posts.

Make today a glorious day!

Happy blogging,

The Devotional Guy™
