What are you uncomfortable living with but afraid of living without?
Perhaps, for you, it’s your reliance on social media. There’s the fear of missing out. Social media provides us connectivity to the world around us and people we know but are no longer in our immediate sphere of influence. We like that. Yet, it makes us uncomfortable because it seems like we’re always picking up our phone and scrolling. We want to put our phones down but our fear of being disconnected prevails.
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
Are you addicted to busyness but afraid what you’d do with all the extra time? Maybe you’re uncomfortable doing nothing. Busyness can distract us from other things that make us uncomfortable, like the difficulties of certain relationships. When we’re busy, we don’t feel as alone.
It’s been quite a week here at the Bantau household. I’ll fill you in on a later post (hopefully, later this week). I’m under the weather and fighting a number of different ailments.
In the meantime, love God with your everythingness and love others as yourself (or at least the best you can until you can do better).
Peace,
Rainer Bantau

Thank you, Lily. I appreciate that. Yes, it’s interesting how quickly seemingly innocent activities can flip into addictions or compulsions. Thanks for reading this post and for commenting.

I hope you and yours start feeling better soon.
And a very timely post. I’ve been trying to stop scrolling on YouTube so much. It’s starting to feel like an addiction and I don’t like it!
