When God Delivers an Expected Blessing in an Unexpected Way

A few days ago, I published a post titled “When God Delivers an Unexpected Blessing”.

Today, as we approach Christmas Eve and the birth of our Savior, let us remember that God’s greatest demonstration of His faithfulness is witnessed by the birth of Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah.

With God, learn to expect the unexpected.

Jesus—the Savior of the world—didn’t arrive in a way that anyone would ever anticipate. Jesus was born amid the humility of a manger, surrounded by farm animals instead of world leaders, kings, and cameras. Jesus came into this world in a very unexpected way, apart from the fanfare one might expect to surround such an extraordinary event.

God often delivers expected blessings in unexpected ways and even through unexpected means. In my 14 years of ministry, I’ve seen God deliver blessings in many different and unexpected ways.

God is faithful to deliver on His promises.

I’ve learned that God doesn’t always deliver expected things in expected ways, but He always delivers on His word. Oftentimes, how I expect God to something is different then what God does. Perhaps, this is true of your experience also?

Jesus—the expected Messiah—certainly didn’t come into the world in the way the world expected a Messiah to arrive. Jesus didn’t come with trumpets blaring and great fanfare. Rather, Jesus arrived humble and lowly.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

Merry Christmas! —-from the Bantaus

As you celebrate Christmas with your family and friends, be sure to thank God for the blessing of His son, Jesus, who came to take away the sins of the world (John 1:29).

His birth is the true reason for this season.

In love and grace,
