Walking. Talking. Praying.

Dear readers: I am happy to report that our Inclement Weather Service is going well. Due to the sheer volume of people and the extremely cold weather, we had to open a second location.

Our first location opened Friday afternoon (January 12) at Fair Park. We are in a 50,000 square foot building called the Grand Place. On Sunday afternoon, our friends and co-laborers at Austin Street opened a second location in their old building.

I’ve been able to spend much of my time walking throughout our Fair Park facility and talking with people. It’s all about building relationships and growing community. I’ve seen many people that I first met back during Snowmageddon 2021.

My friend Ola

As I make my rounds and engage with people, I am reminded of Stephen Covey’s adage: “Seek first to understand, then to be understood.” The more I know about others, the better able I am to serve them.

I’ve especially appreciated the opportunity to pray with, over, and alongside hundreds of people.

We are all in need of a savior. We all need Jesus.

It looks like we will be operating our inclement weather shelter at least through Sunday morning.

Pray for us. We need you and we need the Lord.

May God be glorified.

With abundant blessings,

Rainer Bantau —The Devotional Guy™
