Where is your spiritual center?

Following a long and intense period of ministry, we often see Jesus go to the other side of the mountain to pray.

”After telling everyone good-bye, he went up into the hills by himself to pray.“

Mark 6:46 (NLT)

After three days of running on sheer adrenaline, I’ve hit a wall and crashed. Yesterday, before the adrenaline wore off, I had the privilege of reconnecting with two brothers in Christ.

Brothers in Christ (with Jess Meaders)

This morning, I’ve developed a nagging cough and felt a few momentary chills. I’m praying it’s not anything serious. The last thing I need right now is an upper respiratory infection or something worse. Thankfully, I’m not running a fever. I believe I’m just hacking up crud that I breathed in during our recent emergency inclement weather event at Fair Park.

I will take the next couple of days to rest. At this juncture, I’m not sure if that will be enough.

One of the big takeaways from the past two weeks is God leading me to focus more intentionally on investing more deeply in relationships. I had the privilege of walking alongside several people, including team members, to care for their spiritual needs. I also had the opportunity to strengthen partnerships and act as an ambassador for the work we are doing to help the homeless.

Where is your spiritual center? Mine seems to be found most often in lifting up others as they do the work God calls them to do.

I’m headed to the other side of the mountain to pray.

May God bless you immensely. Thanks for reading.
