Bantau’s Baack!

Yes! It’s TRUE! I am back in the saddle. While I am still experiencing chills and the occasional hack, I believe that I’m on the mend. my quads still ache, as does my back, most likely from strain and overextending myself. It’s easy to tweak things when you are running on sheer adrenaline. There’s no shortcut to working consecutive twelve to fourteen hour days. You simply do it.

Monday night, I was excited to rejoin my classmates for drawing. Our class meets for two hours every Monday night. We had several new faces among many regular returning ones. Jay W spent the time getting our feet wet with an exercise in automatic drawing.

As January crashes to a close —- ending as quickly as it began — I am keenly aware of the line between depravity and the goodness of God after our ten day jaunt at Fair Park. Inclement Weather Service always amplifies everything, including one’s emotions and spiritual experiences. It drains you mentally and physically. At the end, it’s a lot to process.

As I review some of my stats from 2023, I continue to be amazed by the global reach that The Devotional Guy™ blog enjoys [thanks be to God]. Aside from the United States the top five nations that visitors viewed my blog are:

How is your 2024 going, my dear reader? Any big surprises so far?

As I mentioned earlier, I am glad to get back to drawing. Creating new things is always sure to take my mind off any present troubles.

Blessings,

Rainer Bantau —The Devotional Guy™

  1. Thank you, it’s a ⏸️, for sure. I have to stay home from school for 5 days, but am working some remotely. I hate it being there, but wouldn’t wish this on anybody.

  2. Praying for your recovery. Thankfully, I have yet to get Covid. But, I’ve had two serious bouts of upper respiratory infections the past three months.
    Get well, friend.

  3. I’m glad you’re back in the saddle again, brother Rainer. I came down with Covid this weekend, for the second time since 2020. Much worse symptoms than before, very flu like, but staying out of my lungs. Blessings!
