An Update on My Journey as a Visual Artist

I started to publish this as a second post on Sunday, but after reading Renard’s post discussing the pros and cons of publishing more than one post per day, I decided to make it a Monday morning post.

If you’ve followed my blog for a bit, then you probably know that I’ve delved into creating my own original visual art.

Saturday night, I entered my piece “The Conversation” in the Bold Brush art competition hosted by FASO.

The Conversation”’is a Contemporary Expressionism portrait done in pastel of two people engaged in a conversation.

It’s a scene I see hundreds of times a day; two people talking. What about? Where will it lead? Are they friendly or are they foes? Are they predator and prey? I don’t really know. I can only glean what I can from eavesdropping on their body language.

These are my thoughts. They need not be yours. That’s the beauty of art. You are free to engage with it on your own. You are free to come up with your takeaways, your own thoughts, your own reactions. As an artist, it’s simply a joy to share something I created and invite you to join me in experiencing it together.

You can vote for my painting here,

I like things that are unique and extreme.
