7 Bible Verses to Encourage Greater Intimacy With God Through Prayer

My friend—could you use some encouragement to help you grow in intimacy with God? Prayer is the conduit for us to do just that—grow in our closeness to our Creator and Heavenly Father.

Oftentimes, we don’t know how to pray in a given situation. Scripture can help us pray when we don’t know what to pray.

Here are 7 verses that I hope will encourage you to grow in intimacy with God through prayer.

1 John 5:14

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

2 Chronicles 6:21

Hear the supplications of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven, your dwelling place; and when you hear, forgive.

Ephesians 6:18

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

James 5:13

Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.

Matthew 5:44

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

Psalm 102:17

He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea.

Romans 12:12

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

I hope that you find these 7 verses helpful as you dig deeper into your relationship with the Lord. May the Lord reward you immensely for wanting to draw nearer to Him through prayer.
