Sunday Evening Prayer 4.28.2024

It’s been quite a week. It included a rich, fruitful time at the Church Leaders Conference held annually at Watermark Community Church in Dallas.

Monday night, I had drawing class. Admittedly, I didn’t feel very inspired when I arrived at class. Honestly, I felt like I was in a pretty crotchety mood.

But, I painted anyway.

As you reflect on what lies in store for you in the week ahead, what is one way you can seek to embody God’s love in your interactions with others?

Our Father who art in Heaven,

As I gather my thoughts and quiet my heart on this peaceful Sunday evening, I come before You with gratitude for the blessings of the past week and with anticipation for the guidance You will provide in the days ahead.

I thank You for the moments of joy, for the challenges that have strengthened my faith, and for the peace that comes from knowing You are always present. Lord, as the week unfolds before me, let me ask for Your wisdom to navigate the complexities of life with grace and integrity.

In the serenity of this evening, I also seek Your comfort for those who are facing trials, Your healing for those who are ill, and Your peace for those who are troubled. May Your love be a beacon of hope in the darkness.

As it is written in Psalm 4:8, “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.” Let this promise guide me into a restful night, secure in the knowledge that I am held in Your faithful embrace.

Bless my family, my friends, and all those I hold dear. Keep everyone in Your care until the light of morning beckons us into a new day as well as a new week filled with opportunities to glorify Your name.
