The powers that be at One WordPress Avenue* offer up a daily prompt through the curators of Day One.
I like responding to them more frequently than trying my luck at the Texas lottery.
What could you let go of, for the sake of harmony?
I found this prompt inviting me to reflect on aspects of my life that may be causing tension.
Perhaps, there are some habits, beliefs, grievances, possessions, or relationships that are creating an imbalance in my daily life.

If I muster the courage to release them—or find the hutzpah to at least modify some of the things increasing stress and disharmony in my world—I might unearth greater peace and discover better balance in my life.
For example, I could:
- Let go of a grudge to mend a relationship.
- Release the need to be right to reduce conflicts.
- Simplify my schedule to reduce stress and create more calm.
- Give up certain expectations to find more contentment with what I have rather than worrying about what I lack.
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
Psalm 23:1 NIV
Consider for a moment, if you would, what might be holding you back from experiencing greater harmony in your life? What steps could you take to reduce tension and restore balance to your life?
As of Sunday, there are 25 weeks left this year. How will you spend them?

Know you are loved.

Only 25 weeks? Time needs to slow down.

I completely get that, David. Even though I’ve learned time and time again waiting on Him leads to better outcomes every time. Thanks for reading and commenting.

For the sake of harmony, I could stand to give up some selfish ambition. I’m a fairly driven person, and this sometimes means I dislike waiting for the Lord to act. For some reason, I often feel as if the world is passing me by, which, from heaven’s perspective is just fine. 🤗

Yes, indeed. We can often exhibit a false sense of control when ultimately God is the One who’s will is being fulfilled. Glad you found this post insightful, Bridget. Thanks for reading and commenting.

I agree, this question is inviting. And I appreciate all your bullet points here. Another thought that came to mind was to release control. I think trying to control my life causes a lot of frustration because God is the One in ultimate control. This post has given me much to think about. 🤔 Thank you, Rainer!
