Here we are at the next stop of our journey exploring the Fruit of the Spirit.
We’ve arrived at the big F-word.
Faithfulness.
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Galatians 5:22-23 NLT
In a world that values convenience over commitment, displaying faithfulness is uber countercultural. Faithfulness is a declaration that our confidence is not swayed by trends or trials but anchored in the eternal love and truth of God. Through exhibiting faithfulness, we become a beacon of God’s reliability and trustworthiness to those around us.

Truth be told (and we speak truth here), the beauty of faithfulness is that it mirrors God’s faithfulness to us. Just as He is faithful in His promises, love, and mercy, we are called to show this same faithfulness in our lives.
Being faithful is about staying true to our convictions and maintaining our integrity based on our faith, not our circumstances. Storms will come; winds will blow. Yet, we will not be deterred. We won’t be swayed.
Our faithfulness is a testimony of our trust in God’s plan, affirming that even when we do not fully grasp the way, we will follow Him, confidently believing that He leads us towards goodness and mercy.
Wherever our Lord leads us…that’s where we will go.
Know you are loved. I pray this post is a blessing to you. Thanks for reading and taking time to comment.

The theme of faithfulness is a necessary reflection, especially with the daily challenges we experience all around us. Rainer, I appreciate how your testament brings God’s faithfulness and our own into the same conversation. God’s peace be with you.

When I studied the Fruit of the Spirit, I found it very interesting that the Greek word here is “pistis,” occurring in scripture 244 times, and is translated “faith” in the King James Version (Strong’s Concordance) 239x, including Galations 5. It is translated “fidelity” (faithfulness) once in Titus 2:10. Other versions vary.
Pistis~ “persuasion, i.e. credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly, constancy in such profession; by extension, the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself:—assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity.”
Matt. 17:20 faith as a mustard seed
Matt. 21:21 faith to move mountains
Mark 5:34 your faith has made you well
Luke 5:20 when He saw their faith, He forgave their sins
It is as you said… to be faithful is to be full of faith. You can’t have one without the other. If our faith is fully invested in Christ, we will be faithful to Him.
Jude verses 20-21 “But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.”
God bless!
