Coming up with content for a blog can be a chore even if you’re blogging for Jesus. Maintaining a blog requires effort and discipline. In other words: work.
Imagine if you were to write and publish a blogpost every day.
Every. Day.
Could you do it? Would you want to?
This is the thought I found myself meditating on during my early morning quiet time with the Lord.
As is true with any form of diligent work or creative expression, blogging daily can be a reflection of the wisdom found in Proverbs 12:24, “The hand of the diligent will rule, while the slothful will be put to forced labor.”

Commiting to write a blog post every day means exercising diligence and stewardship over the gifts and talents God has given.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 encourages us to embrace our tasks wholeheartedly: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might…” Writing daily can be a means of exploring the depth of our heart, expressing gratitude, sharing knowledge, and encouraging others.
However, it’s important to remember the guidance provided in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”
There is a time to speak and a time to be silent.
We must seek discernment and find balance, ensuring our writing and the topics we choose honor God and reflect the Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
Finally, we should let the words of Colossians 3:17 guide our intentions: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Our blogs can serve as a witness testifying to our steadfast faith and a bright, shining beacon of light in an ever increasingly dark world.
Our blogs can also serve as a source of encouragement to others.
Know you are loved.
I pray this post is a blessing to you.
Thanks for reading and taking time to comment.

I agree, life does happen and we need to give ourselves a little grace when life disrupts our blogging routine and rhythm. I’m glad you’re enjoying my lifestyle-themes posts. Are there any in particular that resonate more with you than others? Thanks for the well wishes and for taking time out of your day to read my post and share your thoughts.

Having a full time job definitely impacts our ability to blog daily, Bridget. I know this is true in my case. This week is a prime example. There’s been no extra margin in my schedule the past couple of days, so my best intention to work on some posts has fallen to the wayside. That’s why I tend to post in riffs and runs rather than consistently on a certain day. I love that you and others like David, faithfully post once a week. I found that’s even difficult for me.
I agree—bloggers like Alan do demonstrate a ton of grit and resolve to post daily. In any event, I think regardless of our posting routines and rituals, the content is strong and top notch. And that matters more.
Knowing our why—glorifying God and edifying His people makes the difference—as you mention in your comment.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and insights, Bridget!

I have posted daily only during special events, such as a gratitude challenge. Even when I had a cap of 30 days, it was rough. But I also have a full time job, which limits my blogging schedule. For those who post more often than once a week (my normal schedule), I must say they have a lot of grit! But you are right, Rainer – blogging and everything else we do in our daily lives, we are doing it all for the Lord. And that makes a difference.

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments, Sue. I’m glad you have found a rhythm that works for you. I think that’s what every blogger must do—find what works for them and keep at it.

I have a lot of respect and appreciation for Alan Kearns for posting inspirational thoughts every day. I have tried it and it is a hard schedule to keep. I’ve ended up with an editorial calendar of posting twice a week. That is hard work too, but it is a schedule I can work with. I appreciate your dedication, Rainier, and look forward to your posts, even though I don’t always comment.

Alan, your dedication to posting daily devotions, despite the challenges and demands of life, is a testament to your commitment to spreading the encouragement and wisdom found in Scripture. I believe your efforts of planting seeds in the hearts of your readers, will grow and produce fruit in their lives.
The posts you’ve shared in the past continue to hold value and are a fresh fountain of encouragement to someone reading them for the first time.
Continued blessings as you faithfully share what the Lord has given you.
Thank you for taking time to read my post and sharing your thoughts.

I have been posting daily devotions for quite a while now, and yes it can be hard work – especially when other daily duties demand more attention. But to be honest, there are times I have relied upon reposts from my back catalogue. What keeps me on track is staying focussed on the original purpose that I set out with – to share short devotionals from my own Bible study to encourage others.
God bless you in His Word today brother Rainer 🙏
