…even when I’ve forgotten what I prayed for. I recently had a moment when I realized God had answered a prayer that I had prayer a long while ago. In fact it was so long ago, I had forgotten that I had prayed about it. But, God remembered. And, He responded. Friend, that ever happened to you?
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a heart overflowing with gratitude, acknowledging Your unfailing love and Your divine ability to remember my needs even when they slip my human mind. Thank You for Your attentiveness to the whispers of my heart. Thank You for Your answers that come in Your perfect timing. Thank You for the peace that envelops me. It reminds me that You hear me.
Lord, my God, I am reminded of Your words in Isaiah 65:24, “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.” This promise assures me of Your proactive love, a love that acts on my behalf even before I can articulate my needs. Help me trust in Your timing and Your perfect will, knowing that You are working things out for my good and for my benefit, even when I don’t see it in the moment.
May I remain mindful of Your presence in my life, recognizing the ways in which You answer my many forgotten prayers, and may this recognition deepen my faith and reliance on You. Help me walk in gratitude each day, keeping my heart and mind open to the ways You are moving around me. You are constantly at work all around me. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!
In the powerful name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Prayer is a powerful ally that helps us communicate with God. We can be assured He hears us. Often I am reminded of this when He answers a prayer at just the right moment long after I’ve forgotten that I prayed it. Does that ever happen to you?

Yes! Things I prayed for 20 years ago or longer, I have seen answered in God’s timing. For the most part, they have been prayers for others… for someone to come to Christ, for families to be mended, and then there are the prayers that I have offered up constantly for my children. Some of them are just growing into adulthood, and I see that God has been answering my prayers for their hearts and character all along, but it is only now that the fullness is evident. So we will keep on praying! God delights in our praying for those things which scripture tells us are according to HIS will!
