Soaking it all in

I’m not even gonna lie. I cherish starting most days sitting in the quiet darkness with our cat Rice nestled in my lap. It’s just me, him, and silence. And, of course, my cup of coffee.

My first public solo exhibition came down yesterday. It’s incredible to think how many people made the effort to go see it.

It’s encouraging and heartwarming.

My art attempts to tell a story by exploring the breadth of human emotion and highlighting the highs and lows of the human experience. Life is as grand as it is difficult. To be born human is both wonderful and gut-wrenchingly heartbreaking at times.

“When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭8‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I’m not 100 percent sure of what subject I will pursue next, although grief is on the shortlist, as are Advent and the Garden of Eden. Whatever it is, my prayer is that I will do the work justice and that I will communicate something of substance.

“Lord, let me say something worth saying.”

I’m incredibly thankful for my wife, Terri, whose support through it all has been steadfast and invaluable. I simply could not be me without her.

Until my next post…

God is good. All the time.

No matter what.

Know you are loved.

Praying for you. Praying for America.
