When David D and I met in Oklahoma City a couple of weeks ago, we discussed the idea of collaborating on some blog posts. We thought it could be interesting to have one of us kick off a post, with the other jumping in to expand or add new perspectives—a kind of ongoing, collaborative conversation.
Over lunch, with David’s wife Nancy by his side, our conversation about blogging was both engaging and thought-provoking. David’s passion for writing shone through, especially in his two blogs, David’s Daily Dose and All Haiku. As we dug deeper, I discovered just how creative, insightful, and knowledgeable David is—not only about blogging but also about emerging technologies like AI. The day felt like a gift, with perfect weather accompanying our walk from the creatives conference I was attending to our lunch spot, a foodie haven called “The Collective.”
That’s when David dropped this idea on me.
What would it look like if one of started a post and the other responded?
I joked, “Yeah, like two old guys sittin’ ‘round talkin’ ‘bout the weather.”

We covered a range of topics during our lunch including what it’s like living out our faith during these difficult times we find ourselves in, marriage, church, and of course blogging.
One topic we touched on during our visit was artificial intelligence, or AI.
How might AI influence blogging?
Just as microblogs, like Twitter, changed blogging, AI is a powerful tool that can impact how bloggers produce content. Advancements in technology are groovy. Then again, Twitter nearly killed blogging.
If you are not afraid of trying new things, AI could serve as a pseudo-creative collaborator you can utilize for brainstorming ideas, researching topics, or creating snappy headlines.
No need to be a Luddite.
The trick is keeping your authentic voice while not compromising the quality of your content.
I’ve heard that Google prioritizes content created by humans and that is helpful to other humans over content solely generated by AI. But, in full transparency, all that may just be a rumor.

Let’s see what David says…
Until my next post,

God is good. All the time.
No matter what.
Know you are loved.
Praying for you. Praying for America.

As I’ve researched it, it’s fascinating how much AI has crept into our lives. It’s really kind of creepy. Thanks for reading, Gary.

You two bloggers are like-minded enough to do some form of collaboration.

Glad you guys had an opportunity to get together. That’s wonderful. And the collaboration sounds intriguing. I haven’t used AI, and it probably shows in my typos 😂

Tag, I’m it!
First things first: I need to ask Chat Bot GT how to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in blogging. 🤠
Seriously, I’m glad to share (tomorrow) how AI has impacted, and hopefully improved, my blogging journey.
Spoiler alert: I’ve never used assistive technology to write for me; every word on my blog comes straight outta my cranium.

Good morning from Scotland brother 😀
The idea of collaborating on blog posts is an excellent idea. There was a post for thanksgiving last year by a small group of folks, which was quite exciting. Sadly, it was not followed up with anything. I look forward to seeing what you and David create; I am sure it will be a great read and glorifying to Father God.
May He bless both of you and your wives today 🙏
