I felt like having Thanksgiving early. It’s been a difficult year. This time twelve months ago, I sat in the emergency animal hospital, Terri by my side, our Baby D in my arms as we said our goodbyes.

We didn’t know when we had Thanksgiving with our family a day later that it would be the last one with Terri’s sister, Sheri.

Work has been stressful for both of us for a myriad of reasons. Health issues have played too large a role in our lives as has grief.
If life is a bowl of cherries, what am I doing in the pits?

But, with God comes grace. Thankfully.
22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
In that spirit, after a challenging day off mentally and emotionally, I decided to cook a Thanksgiving meal for Terri and myself. Like the old saying goes, when life gives you lemons make lemonade.

Wherever you are on your journey, I pray you find a way to be thankful. Don’t take life for granted. Don’t take those you love for granted. None of it is promised to us.
Until my next post…
Happy Thanksgiving!
