As believers, we live in the tension of already being declared holy and blameless through Christ and the ongoing process of sanctification—becoming more like Jesus in our daily lives. Ours is a journey of grace, one that God faithfully walks with us. You and I are empowered by the Holy Spirit to grow and live out this calling in our actions and in our relationships. We are not on the road alone.

Being blameless doesn’t mean you and I are without sin in our present human state. Certainly, not. However, it does mean that through Jesus’ sacrifice, our sins are forgiven, and we are seen as righteous before God. We have a second chance to get it right.
Colossians 1:22 NIV
Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.
As we traverse along our journey of faith, being holy and blameless involves spiritual growth and maturity. Becoming more like Christ requires that we are guided by the Holy Spirit and is more of a process than a destination.
1 Peter 1:15-16 NIV
But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, ‘You must be holy because I am holy.’
We can thank God as we embrace the journey of our spiritual growth. We show up and do the work. This is our job: Pray, read God’s word, serve others. Praise and worship. Rinse and repeat.

Until next time…
Grace and Peace,
