There are over 8 billion people living on Planet Earth. Futurists forecast that a new person will be born somewhere in the world every 21 seconds in 2025. That’s 3 newcomers every minute.
Yet… there’s only 1 you!
As one year fades and a new year dawns, many of us will resolve to do some things.

New Year’s resolutions aren’t really my thing; at least not like they once may have been. Life is dynamic. Change is the only constant. What was important to us doesn’t tend to remain the same. With each passing year we gain new priorities. That said, here are a few things I want to do in 2025:
1. Walk with Terri once a week.
2. Drink more water; less caffeine.
3. Make Sunday morning breakfast with Terri’s folks.
4. Prioritize my mental health.
5. Visit my mom more frequently.
6. Visit the Oklahoma City Memorial to pay tribute to those who lost their lives 30 years ago.
7. Make Art.
If I had to pick a word for the year, I would likely land on “focus.” I want to prioritize those things that matter most. Our aging parents are one of those priorities. Terri and I want to be more intentional in spending time with them while we still can.

In 2025, I plan to focus more on making art. I’m determined to be better and to grow as a visual artist.
2024 was a seminal year for my artwork culminating in my own solo exhibition “When Your Days End In Why.”
John 1:1-5 NIV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
This past year has shown me that I still burn with ambition. However, that ambition rests with creativity and family where once upon a time my ambition was mostly geared to achieving success at work. While I am still getting acclimated to it, I happen to believe this change in focus is a good thing. It’s been important for me to remember that while we may know some things, only God knows all things.

At the end of the day, I believe we are all hoping to move towards something better.
What are you looking forward to in 2025?
I look forward to hearing from you in the comments.
Happy New Year!
