I get it. Healing can feel overwhelming, like trying to navigate a maze with no clear exit. But for me, I’ve found that keeping it simple works best. Each day, I focus on what God puts in front of me—nothing more, nothing less. No dwelling on the past, no worrying about the future—just the present moment.
My therapist has encouraged me to simply be—to let go of the need for an agenda, to stop striving, and instead, to walk through the doors that open before me.
And when distractions come? No worries. They happen. Show yourself grace.
Take a breath. Inhale. Exhale.
This simple rhythm helps me move forward, one step at a time. I pray that maybe it will help you, too.

Ichigo ichie is a Japanese concept that translates to “one time, one meeting.” This Japanese “yojijukugo” (four-character proverb) reminds us to be fully present in every moment. Time is fleeting. The present passes by with each breath we take. Even the simplest things are worthy of our complete attention.
- Sweep the floor.
- Read a book.
- Take a walk.
- Hug your loved one.
- Ride your bicycle.
Truth is, as a human beings, we can’t occupy two realities at the same time so let’s be present in the moment.
Inhale (4 beats). Exhale (8 beats).
Repeat.

Thanks for reading, my friend. Until my next post…

Absolutely 👍 we studied Godly rest this week and my friend’s favourite saying is we are human beings not human doings. God rested after making creation not because he was tired. It’s good to take time to enjoy just being 🙏
