Wednesday Wisdom | 12 Proverbs for Better Living

As I mentioned in last Wednesday’s post, I believe the Bible is a great source of wisdom. The Book of Proverbs is filled with wisdom and guidance for living a life that is pleasing to God and beneficial to others.

Here are 12 Proverbs that offer us both practical and spiritual insights:

  1. Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not depend on your own understanding. In all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight.”
  2. Proverbs 4:23: “Keep your heart with all care, for it is the source of your life.”
  3. Proverbs 9:10: “The starting point for wisdom is reverence for the Lord, and knowledge of the Holy One brings understanding.”
  4. Proverbs 10:12: “Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers all wrongs.”
  5. Proverbs 11:25: “The generous person will prosper, and whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
  6. Proverbs 12:1: “Anyone who loves education loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.”
  7. Proverbs 13:20: “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”
  8. Proverbs 15:1: “A gentle answer diffuses anger, but a sharp tongue provokes anger.”
  9. Proverbs 16:3: “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”
  10. Proverbs 17:22: “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”
  11. Proverbs 18:21: “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love to talk will reap the consequences.”
  12. Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.”

These samples from the Book of Proverbs give us timeless wisdom, encourage us to trust in God, cherish wisdom and understanding, and build relationships that nurture and support one another. Heeding their sage advice will no doubt lead to living better lives.

Thanks for reading, my friend. Until my next post…
