In honor of April Fool’s Day yesterday, I decided to share some of Will Roger’s wit and wisdom.
Will Rogers (1879–1935) was an American humorist, actor, and social commentator known for his sharp wit and folksy charm. Born in Oklahoma, he gained fame as a cowboy performer in vaudeville and later became a popular newspaper columnist, radio personality, and Hollywood star. His humorous take on politics and everyday life made him one of the most beloved public figures of his time.

Here are some of his best quotes:
- “Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.”
- “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.”
- “Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.”
- “The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking spaces.”
- “Everybody is ignorant, only on different subjects.”
- “Live in such a way that you would not be ashamed to sell your parrot to the town gossip.”
- “Too many people spend money they haven’t earned to buy things they don’t want to impress people they don’t like.”
- “There are three kinds of men: the ones that learn by reading, the few who learn by observation, and the rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.”
Rogers had a way of delivering truth with humor. Rogers tragically died in a plane crash in Alaska alongside aviator Wiley Post.
Do any of his quotes strike a chord with you?

Thanks for reading, my friend. Until my next post…

Will Rogers understands that wisdom can be expressed with as few words as possible. I focused on #4, I’m glad that I haven’t been taking a census on available parking spaces.
