In a world that thrives on comparison, competition, and categorization, the Cross stands in stark contrast. It does not flatter the powerful or favor the religious. It does not bend for the wealthy or retreat from the broken. It levels the field, strips away pretense, and speaks truth to every soul: you are deeply flawed—and deeply loved.
The Cross is the great equalizer.
It meets us all at our point of need. Whether we come with polished résumés or shattered reputations, the Cross tells us the same story: you cannot save yourself. It humbles the proud and lifts the fallen. It silences boasting and amplifies grace.
The Apostle Paul wrote, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) That “all” includes the preacher and the prisoner, the saint and the skeptic. We all stand in need of redemption.
And here’s the beauty: the Cross does not discriminate. It offers the same grace to all. Regardless of where you come from or what you’ve done, the love of Christ poured out on the Cross is for you. Not the future, cleaned-up version of you—but the real, right-now you.
There is neither Jew nor Gentile, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:28 ESV
The Cross doesn’t erase our differences—it transcends them. It creates a new community built not on sameness, but on love. It invites the insider and the outsider, the confident and the confused, to find belonging in Christ.
And perhaps most importantly, the Cross redefines worth. In a culture where value is measured by influence or income, the Cross speaks a different word: you were worth dying for. Not because of what you bring, but because of who God is.

So if you’re feeling overlooked, outmatched, or unworthy—remember the Cross. If you’re tempted to look down on someone else—remember the Cross. It humbles and heals, convicts and comforts. It equalizes us all under the banner of a Savior who gave everything.
At the foot of the Cross, we find our common ground—and our greatest hope.
And today—may you bask in the glorious resurrection of Jesus!
He is Risen!

Thanks for reading, my friend. Until my next post…

I love the “other guy” – the criminal on the cross who went to heaven.
No welcome group, prayer group, baptism, welcome lunch, rota volunteering, no bible reading, no sermons and no tithing…he just asked Jesus and that was enough.
I love that
