I think people can be put off because these books are not so relatable straight away like the New Testament but they have helped me understand more about the history of Israel and the religious laws and why Jesus took the leaders in his day to task. Understanding the original context has really helped. It’s definitely been worth the effort 😊

Wow, Nicola—Leviticus is some tough sledding—good for you! Deuteronomy and Numbers are both rich books, albeit not easy reads. I think a lot of people shy away from the Old Testament. Why do you think that is?

I’m in Deuteronomy at the moment. I’ve been reading a chapter a day, started in Leviticus, through Numbers and it’s been fascinating reading. I’m learning a lot from the Old Testament.
