If you know, you know. I’m not revealing anything new here when I share that I am in therapy, healing from a broken spirit and grief-laden mind.
I’m not sure how Christians feel about therapy. Actually, I’m not sure how anyone feels about it. Experience has taught me it can be a good thing that isn’t necessarily good for all. I suspect people from all walks of faith frown on therapy. Perhaps, I’m wrong.
A few weeks ago, I shared with Terri that my therapy sessions leave me emotionally raw.
This poem is an example of that. I composed it after my therapy session yesterday.

Lil’ Whisper
a modern poem
I exist.
I have a right
to exist.
I am supposed to be here.
Not a mistake,
not a mess to clean up,
not a wrong to be righted.
I’m not a bad seed
to be buried
in someone else’s
garden of perfection.
I have a voice;
do you hear me?
Do you feel the tremble
in my soul
when I speak?
I am
enough.
Amped up,
agitated,
aggravated—
a storm brewing within my skin.
BPMs racing,
blood pressure rising—
absence of calm,
disappearance of quiet,
no avenue out.
SEE ME.
Breathe,
lil’ whisper
breathe.
It’s gonna be alright.
Yes, lil’ whisper, it’s gonna be alright.
I
am
enough.
I AM ENOUGH.
YES__You are…
BE, Lil’ Whisper, BE.

God uses people to help us and directs us to the right people for that help. Rainer, believe God is directing you to the help you need, because you are His and He created you for a purpose. I wholeheartedly agree with David’s comment!

It saddens me that there is still a stigma surrounding mental health care. Tearing one’s ACL means surgery, followed by rehab, and no one looks at you sideways. Yet, if your mind and emotions are torn, and mental health care is needed, some will not understand.
This is why I sign off all of my posts with, “Stop the Stigma🛑 #mentalhealthmatters
