Saturday in the Word | Noah

Noah, the great Biblical hero of old, is a man who proved faithful in an age of faithlessness. During his time, people had turned away from God completely.

Genesis 6:8-9 ESV

But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.

Noah may have lived during the most ungodly times in history. That may be hard for us to imagine given what is going on in our world today, but the world was so evil during Noah’s days that the Lord wiped it out with a Great Flood.

Noah’s neighbors worshiped idols and pursued their own sinful desires. Everyone he encountered mocked the idea of being faithful to God. They scoffed at Noah.

Every temptation imaginable was available to Noah. No one would have blamed him for following the path of his wicked neighbors, yet Noah chose the ways of God.

As a result of his faithful pursuit of living a righteous life, his life, and the lives of his family, were spared. God saved Noah and his family.

Friend, are you surrounded by wickedness? Do you wonder if how you live matters since the whole world around you is reveling in sin?

Remember Noah.

He is proof that God always finds the righteous in a sea of unrighteousness. Remain steadfast. God desires to bless you and your family beyond anything you could ever imagine.

  1. Yes, indeed. Noah was remarkable in his courage and faithfulness. I’m thankful we have other believers, like each other, to spur one another on in our pursuit of Christlikeness. 3,000 seems like a great goal, if not mind-boggling. Thanks for your continued support and encouragement, Loring.

  2. What we have today that Noah didn’t is other believers outside his family. He was truly standing alone. Congrats on 1,500. Here’s to 3,000.
