My Monday Cup | Life’s Turmoils

My mom likes to remind people that getting old isn’t for sissies. She’s having a spot of cancer cut out from her nose this week. We are also coming up on the one year anniversary of my sister-in-laws unexpected death. She worked hard all her life, raised a family, and looked forward to retirement. She didn’t make it. God called her up to Glory suddenly as she exhaled her final breath following a brief recovery from open heart surgery.

James 4:14 NLT

How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.

Life is but a vapor, James, the brother of Jesus, reminds us in his writings. You and I don’t know the length of our race. We simply get up, tie our shoelaces, and run.

Life is about love and faithfulness. Love well. Live well. Remain faithful through it all. Don’t let life’s storms sway you from the path God laid out before you.

Read your Bible. Draw near to God in prayer. He’s looking forward to your conversation.

Until my next post…

Be salty, stay lit.
