Welcome friends! It’s been a busy but fun few days for yours truly. After Bible Study Thursday morning, I drove to Marshall to visit my Mom ahead of her eye doctor appointment in Rockwall Friday.
Mom and I drove from Marshall to Rockwall on Friday and afterwards we met up with Terri and her folks. We had a great time visiting and catching up. It does Terri and I good to facilitate our families getting together even if it’s just for a quick visit. Afterwards, Mom and I made the trek back to Marshall.
I cherished the opportunity to teach Sunday School at Mom’s home church before heading back home to watch the Cowboys game with Terri and her parents. It was a few days of God’s goodness that I needed during these unsettling times that we are living in.
The craziness around us is amplified. I can’t keep up with the shootings, violence, and turmoil that broke loose over the weekend. The insanity meter must be yanked up to 11. So today, I offer up a prayer.
Thanks for “listening”.

A Prayer for Unsettling Times
Heavenly Father,
my heart feels restless in these days of unsettling uncertainty filled with violence and hate. Everything around me seems out of control and I find myself disturbed by fears I can’t always name.
I need Your steady hand on me.
Remind me that You are not shaken,
even when I feel the ground shift beneath my feet. Be my calm when my thoughts race. Be my peace when my chest feels tight with worry.
Give me the courage to face what I cannot control and the wisdom to rest in what You can. Help me not to withdraw into fear, but to walk each step with trust in You.
Lord, lift my eyes today.
Help me see Your light in the dark corners, Your presence in the silence,
and Your hope in the waiting.
Keep me close.
Hold me steady.
Remind me that I am Yours.
In Jesus mighty Name. Amen.
Until my next post…
Be salty, stay lit.

Amen. Rainer, your words of prayer steady my own outlook. Even in unsettling times, we must believe in the eternal presence of God’s goodness.
