Fall finally rolled into Texas as I visited my Mom in Marshall and drove her to her eye doctor’s appointment in Rockwall late last week.
There’s something about the Fall season that stirs my soul. Does it yours? The air shifts. The temperatures go down. The days grow shorter, albeit seemingly brighter, as the nights grow longer and darker.
In some regions, tree leaves blaze with color, albeit a rare commodity here in our neck of the woods. Sipping morning coffee on the patio seems extra special. I can’t help but wonder why the changes of season move us so deeply.

Scripture reminds us that all of creation reflects the Creator.
Psalms 19:1-4 HCSB
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands. Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they communicate knowledge. There is no speech; there are no words; their voice is not heard. Their message has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun.
Changing seasons whisper reminders that God is an artist, layering His world with beauty and rhythm. We love Fall not just because it’s comfy-cozy, but because it points to God’s eternal cycle of life, death, and renewal. It reminds us that His mercies are made new every morning and that to everything under the Sun, there is a season.
Reflection Question
What beauty in this season points you back to the Creator?

Until my next post…

I’m taking a liking to Fall and the Autumn season myself, Dana. I remember earlier in life looking forward to Spring and Summer much more than Fall. While I still enjoy and cherish those seasons for different reasons, I think Fall is growing to be my favorite at this stage of the game. Thanks so much for your comments and for your faithful support.

Fall is my favorite season. Life seems to take a slower, mindful, grateful pace.
