Blogging as a Christian isn’t always easy. I know it probably sounded like fun when you first started. You were excited about publishing your first post. It seemed like a great way to share your testimony and your love for the Lord. And now, you’re not sure if you want to continue or if anyone even reads what you write. Life happens. It gets in the way, even. There ARE other things to do. Friend, I get it. Been there, done that, got more than one tee shirt.
Don’t be discouraged.
There are days when the words flow freely and the Spirit feels near. There are times when it’s clear that God is using your story to touch someone else’s heart. But there are also days when the well feels dry, the likes are few, and disappointment creeps in. These become the days when our perseverance are an act of worship.

Paul reminds us in Galatians 6:9,
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
As Christian bloggers, we sow seeds of hope through our words. Those seeds often sprout in unseen soil, deep in the hearts of readers we may never meet. Even though the fruit does not appear overnight, it doesn’t mean God isn’t at work.
God is always at work, all around us.
Keep after it. Keep showing up. Keep writing truth, hope, and grace into the noise of the world. When you hit “publish,” you’re not just sending words into a vast, empty void; you’re offering loaves and fish for the Master to multiply.
God is God, I am not.
My friend, perseverance isn’t about popularity; it’s about faithfulness. The early disciples weren’t popular, well-known, or well-liked by the masses.
But they were faithful to what Jesus called them to do, even when they faced trials and tribulations, doubt and uncertainty. God sees your effort, even when the metrics don’t. He knows your heart, even when the world scrolls past your post.
Let God be God.
Keeping after it may not seem easy because it isn’t. Quitting is much easier. But, don’t. Instead, continue to write with courage and blog with humility. Trust that the One who called you to this work will finish what He started through you. After all: He is faithful.
Press on; Press publish.
A Christian Blogger’s Prayer:
Lord, thank You for calling me to share Your truth through my words. When I grow weary or wonder if what I’m doing matters, remind me that You are the one who brings the harvest. Strengthen me to keep after it—faithfully, humbly, and joyfully—for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name.
Amen.

Until my next post…
Be salty, stay lit.

Ana, I find myself overwhelmed by your beautiful response to this post from October. I continue to be awed and amazed by the work God does all around those who love Him and profess Jesus as Lord. I encourage you to continue making Bible reading your priority—and any other way you can spend time in the presence of the Lord. He alone will make your blog grow and reach those who He needs to reach. Trust in Him, first and foremost. My prayer is that you continue to be faithful in your blogging and social media pursuits as a herald of His kingdom. Thank you for sharing your real life experience with me in response to my blogpost. I am truly grateful and honored by seeing God at work through the words I’ve written. It’s humbling. Blessings 🙏

Praise the Lord! I woke up with a heavy head; not sure if it’s neck pain from yesterday’s workout or the heaviness of my thoughts. I started the day with Brandon Lake’s music with the intention to praise God and let Him lift my spirits. I cleaned the home, and decided to drink my first coffee while playing my favorite design game. The Bible is right next to me, in case I change my mind and make it a priority. I did change my mind and took it, aiming to finish the last two chapters of Luke (I’ve read it several times, but I felt I could learn more (and I did)). I was filled with the Holy Spirit, and I ended up confessing to God that I felt I wasn’t doing enough for Him. I was worried that my blog is stagnating (I caught myself going to the Stats tab more often than I should), that my social media posts aren’t doing well enough and that I could do more to spread His word. God brought me to my laptop, led me to the recommended blogs search bar and all I remember is that I wrote Christian. That’s all. I scrolled down and ended up on your blog, reading exactly this post. God 1:0 My worries and fears. :))) Thank you for these beautiful and simple words that brought me peace and encouragement. P.S. Apologies for the previous unfinished comment; I sent it by mistake. 🙂

I’m happy to hear that my post offered some encouragement, Melanie. Through conversations I’ve had with other bloggers I can confidently say that each of us have felt discouraged or like giving up at one time or another. At least, we’ve asked ourselves that question “is it worth it?”. So know you’re not alone. Keep writing away! Thanks for reading and commenting! Blessings 🙏

Thank you for this! I keep thinking that even if its a few people my blog reaches Ive done what I feel called to do so your point of the seeds being planted & we dont always see what happens next helps a bunch right now! I started doubting if I should continue or put my efforts somewhere else but of course God is being well God & putting all these whispers…message at church, scripture I’m reading for the day, posts like yours…and I get the encouragement to keep going and keep writing because that is all from God. So again thank you in your obedience because you def planted a lil seed over here!

Thank you. I remember being terrified publishing my first ever post but have found great encouragement and inspiration from my fellow bloggers. I was surprised to discover and make friendships with people I have only met through their writings.

Thank you for cheering us on! I believe that even if I just give the hope of God to one person it will have been worth all the effort!

My pleasure, Carol. I’m glad to know my post is helpful to you and to others, as well. Sabbaticals are a good thing. They help us realign and recalibrate in addition to recharging our batteries. I am aware of several longtime bloggers who, for various reasons, are taking a break right now. I will be praying for the Spirit’s continued guidance and clarity. Blessings 🙏

Thank you for this encouragement, Rainer. I’ve been blogging steadily for almost ten years now, and though I’m taking a short break right now, I’m trusting the Spirit to spur me on to continue for a while yet. I’ve appreciated your likes on my posts and now look forward to reading yours more regularly! Blessings.

I’m staying lit brother, the lord God is working every day and his harvest is coming. No, this blog is not in vain as long as people need to hear it and you can reach 1 soul- which you have.
We are loved! Hallelujah! Stay salty until…

Thank you for sharing this timely reflection upon the ministry of Christian blogging. It can be a lonely road sometimes, but occasionally, you meet others who have been helped by something that you have written. Such messages spur you on further down the road. I find that the closer I draw to God and His Word the better my writing becomes, but when I am struggling in my faith writing becomes hard too. God is Good in His faithful compassion and blessings!
May our Father God continue to guide your pen and bless you while you bless others in your service. 🙏
