Wednesday Wisdom | 10 Wisdoms About the Rapture

A ton of uncertainty exists in the world and I can tell by my posts that people are concerned about it. One of my most read posts these last few weeks is 7 Attributes of God to Help Navigate Uncertain Times.

When uncertainty increases, there is a natural tendency to yearn for a better future. For Christians, that tends to mean a greater anticipation for the promised return of Jesus. Naturally, this unearths many questions we have about the Rapture.

Many Christians have questions about the Rapture: when will it happen, what will it look like, and how do we get prepared? As speculation rapidly runs amok, the Bible reminds us to focus more deeply on our readiness, faith, and hope in Christ.

With that in mind, I want to provide 10 wisdoms to guide our hearts and minds as we contemplate Christ’s return in light of the heightened uncertainty of our present world.

  1. Focus on Readiness, Not Timing
Jesus said, “But about that day or hour no one knows…” (Matthew 24:36). True wisdom is found through living each day aligned with Him rather than chasing predictions.
  2. Keep Your Eyes on Jesus
The Rapture is ultimately about being with Christ. Spiritual growth, obedience, and love matter more than speculation. Focus on who we know, not what we think we know.
  3. Stay Spiritually Alert
Like a servant waiting for the master, remain awake in prayer, scripture, and holiness (Mark 13:33). Be vigilant. Be ready.
  4. Avoid Fear-Based Living
God is sovereign. Fear has no place in a heart trusting Him. Let hope, not panic, guide you. Jesus coming back is a good thing, not a bad one.
  5. Encourage Others, Don’t Scare Them
Share grace and hope. Point people to Christ instead of stirring anxiety about the future. You’re either pointing them to Jesus or pushing them away.
  6. Balance Heaven and Earth
Anticipate Christ’s return but live faithfully today by serving others, loving deeply, and stewarding your life responsibly.
  7. Study Scripture Thoughtfully
The Rapture is part of God’s larger plan. Study it in context, not through sensational claims, but rather for true understanding.
  8. Trust God’s Timing
Faith grows when we surrender to His schedule. His timing is perfect, even when we cannot see it. Trust God.
  9. Prepare Holistically
Preparation includes spiritual, relational, and practical readiness. These are evident through peace in relationships, integrity, and responsible living.
  10. Live With Eternal Perspective
Life on earth is temporary. Every choice, action, and step of faith now has eternal significance (Colossians 3:2).

Prayer for Readiness:
Lord, help me to live each day with eyes fixed on You. Strengthen my faith, guard my heart from fear, and guide me in serving others. Prepare me to be ready for Your return, living with hope, love, and eternal perspective. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Until my next post…

Be salty, stay lit.
