Is this fueling my healing or distracting from it? It’s a necessary question I’ve only recently started to ask.
The truth is, healing isn’t wasted time. It’s a productive investment that pays great dividends over time. Every moment that I choose rest instead of relentless striving or reflection instead of constant action, I am building strength for the long run. These past ten months, I’ve learned that healing is similar to the foundation of a house: unseen, but absolutely essential if the structure is going to stand.
We often applaud hustle and grind, but rarely celebrate quiet resilience. Yet the two aren’t opposed. Real productivity grows out of wholeness, not depletion. By investing in my own healing, I am actually investing in the quality of everything I will create, lead, or serve in the future.
- Will this fuel my healing, or distract from it?
- Will this decision help me become more whole, or leave me more disrupted?
Healing isn’t passive. It’s active work. Healing is soul work. Healing is the daily practice of choosing what restores me over what drains me, receiving God’s grace instead of always running near empty.
Truthfully, healing may just be the deepest, truest form of productivity.

Until my next post…
Be salty, stay lit.
