Today is Friday, October 31–Halloween—a day for celebrating all things scary and spooky. Perhaps nothing is scarier for some of us than technological advancements, especially things like Artificial Intelligence (AI). These type of innovations may signal the End Times for a few of us as they harken images straight out of the Book of Revelation.
Living Faithfully in the Digital Age
We’re living in a time when machines can think, write, and even create. Artificial Intelligence isn’t simply reshaping our workplaces. It is also reshaping our world. As Christians, we’re called to navigate this new digital frontier with wisdom, discernment, and faith.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The capability of computersystems or algorithms to imitate intelligent human behavior;
a branch of computer science dealing with the simulation of intelligent human behavior by computers.
AI offers incredible potential. It can connect people, streamline ministries, and expand the reach of the Gospel in ways we never imagined. But, as all technological advances often do, it also challenges us to ask deeper questions about what it means to be human, to create, and to love.

Redeeming, Not Rejecting, Technology
Being a Christian in an increasingly AI world isn’t about rejecting technology; it’s about redeeming it. It comes down to remembering that tools don’t define us; our Creator does.
We can use AI to reflect the image of God through creativity, compassion, and truth. Whether through writing, art, communication, or leadership, technology becomes an instrument when placed in the hands of someone walking with God and willing to be used by God.
Staying Anchored in the Spirit
As with all things, when we interact online or use digital tools to amplify our message (really God’s message), it is imperative that we remain anchored in the Holy Spirit. The temptation to let algorithms guide our identity is real. But Scripture reminds us that:
Romans 8:14 (NIV)
Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
As the digital world continually evolves, our faith must remain rooted in God’s unchanging truth. Feelings are temporal. God’s truth is eternal.
Faith Over Fear
Let us try and approach AI not with fear and timidity, but with faith and boldness. Let us use it to serve others, tell the Greatest Story ever told even better, and bring light to places where screens only cast shadows.
2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline
Friends, technology will continue to change but our mission remains the same: to love God and love others. AI can’t replace the heart, the Holy Spirit, or the soul that God breathed into humanity. Let’s remember: technology is a beautiful gift from God. Let’s use it to glorify Him and help make the world a better place.
A Prayer for Wisdom in a Digital World
Lord,
Guide us as we walk in this new world of artificial intelligence. Help us to use technology wisely and with integrity.
Let every click, post, and creation reflect Your love and truth.
In Jesus’ name, by the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Faith in Action
This week, reflect on how you’re using technology.
- Are your digital interactions bringing salt and light or adding to the noise and vitriol?
- Are your online habits drawing you closer to God or pushing you further away from Him?
Ask God to show you one way you can use your online presence to glorify Him.

Until my next post…
Be salty, stay lit.

“As Christians, we’re called to navigate this new digital frontier with wisdom, discernment, and faith.” As with everything, how we use it, what we do with it, etc. Good common sense approach and I like how you put it – “Faith in Action” ~ Rosie

So far, it can only imitate what’s on the interwebz… and half of it isn’t intelligent. Chuckle.
