Learning to Love Like Jesus

Love is easy in theory and hard in practice. Jesus made it simple in His teachings, yet for us, living it out daily is a challenge.

Loving like Jesus means listening first, speaking last, and putting others’ needs above your own. That’s tough.

Loving like Jesus means demonstrating patience when someone irritates you, granting forgiveness when someone hurts you, and having humility when you’ve been wronged. Loving like Jesus isn’t a feeling. It’s a choice.

In my own life, I often fall short. I snap, I judge, I act out of pride. Can you relate? The beauty of following Jesus is that love isn’t simply dependent on our human effort. It’s a call to keep trying to be better and do better. It’s a holy invitation to keep choosing to reflect His character in the real, everyday moments that we encounter.

Today, I invite you to intentionally show love to someone who frustrates you or challenges you. You know the person. Listen, it might not be returned immediately. However, this act itself will serve as a witness to God’s love. The same love He showed you.
