Thanksgiving is more than a holiday. It is a posture of the heart. Gratitude is a game-changer that reminds us that every good gift in our lives has a Source, and that Source is the Lord. Even in seasons of struggle, God’s mercy meets us with fresh strength. Let us look upward and remember the One who provides, sustains, and redeems.

A Thanksgiving Psalm
Written by Rainer Bantau
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
His mercy outlasts the longest night,
His faithfulness rises with every dawn.
2 Lord, You have carried me through seasons of plenty
and through valleys where shadows lingered.
In joy, You taught me to sing;
in sorrow, You taught me to cling.
3 You have filled my table with blessings
I could never have earned,
and surrounded my life with people
who bear witness to Your kindness.
4 When my strength waned,
Your grace held me firm.
When my path seemed hidden,
Your Word lit the way beneath my feet.
5 I remember Your goodness, O God; the quiet answers to whispered prayers,
the unexpected mercies,
the peace that settles like morning light
over a weary soul.
6 For family and friends,
for work and rest,
for the gift of community and the hope of tomorrow.
I bless Your Name, Lord.
7 Teach my heart to overflow with gratitude,
not only in plenty but in pressure,
not only in celebration but in silence.
Shape thanksgiving into the rhythm of my life.
8 And as I give You thanks,
may my life reflect Your goodness
to a world hungry for hope.
9 Blessed be the Lord,
Maker of heaven and earth,
whose steadfast love endures forever.

A Thanksgiving Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness that is poured out in countless ways. Thank You for the breath in our lungs, the food on our tables, and the love we share with those You’ve placed in our lives.
Teach us to live with grateful hearts,
not only today, but every day.
May our gratitude shine as a witness to Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Reflection Question
Where have you seen God’s mercy or provision in your life this year and how can you thank Him today?

Be salty, stay lit.
