ADVENT2025 2ND SUNDAY ROUNDUP

Malcolm Guite is someone who has invested a great deal of time and effort into delving deeper into Advent. An Anglican priest and poet, he’s even written a book or two focusing on Advent and the Christmas season. I had the opportunity to hear him speak and read poetry, as well as deliver a sermon during his visit to Oklahoma City for the Painters, Prophets, and Poets gathering in October 2024.

“Advent falls in winter, at the end of the year, in the dark and cold, but its focus is on the coming of light and life, when the Ancient of Days becomes a young child and says, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’ Perhaps only poetry can help us fathom the depths and inhabit the tensions of these paradoxes.”

In addition to Reverend Guite’s Advent messages, here are some ADVENT2025 posts from my fellow bloggers:

Here’s an Advent post from Eileen Guyadeen, one of my newest subscribers. I read her recent Advent post on By the Mighty Mumford, a blog faithfully curated by Jonathan Caswell. Check out Eileen’s blog Quiet Moments With God.

Check out An Advent of Courageous Waiting, a blog curated by Marble Women Ministries:

Fellow Christian blogger Alicia is taking her readers through the Gospel of Luke during this Advent season.

Before you scroll on, take a moment to read an Advent Reflection written by my blogging brother, David.

I’m honored to be part of ADVENT2025, a community of Christian bloggers collaborating together to glorify God and magnify people’s focus on the meaning and message of Advent. We desire to point people to Jesus, from the Manger to the Cross. We invite you to join us on this beautiful journey.

  1. Yes, I agree about Easter. I have even considered Lent as a way of focusing on deepening our walks. It is indeed a growing feast, David. I’m so thankful to see God on the move.
