As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, and perhaps discussed ad nauseam, the past year and a half + has been rough, culminating in a PTSD diagnosis in January of this year, along with a diagnosis that I was experiencing complicated bereavement due to persistent trauma in my life.
Over the last several weeks, I’ve met up with several people from different seasons of my life. I’ve also spent time, recently, revisiting places of my youth, along with a few people from way back then. These encounters have been a blessing.
I stumbled across an article about the Fleetwwod Mac tune “Landslide.”
“Can I handle the seasons of my life?”
That question sits right in the heart of the Stevie Nick’s penned song Landslide and it sits in the heart of any one who’s ever felt life tremble under their feet.
Change comes whether we’re ready or not.
A diagnosis.
A loss.
A new calling we didn’t see coming.
A door closing that we thought would stay open forever.
And like a landslide, these moments can leave us feeling unsteady; unsure of who we are or where we’re headed. This is true for believers as much as it is for those who doubt or don’t believe in a higher power.
But Scripture reminds us:
God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in troublePsalm 46:1 ESV
Even when everything else shifts, the Lord does not. Even when we question our choices, our strength, or our future, He remains faithful.
Life changes. Seasons turn. But God’s character holds steadfast.
So, my friend, should you find yourself in a season of uncertainty, whisper this prayer:
“Lord, steady my feet when the ground gives way. Remind me that You remain when everything else changes. Help me face this new season with courage, hope, and trust in You.”
And take a deep breath.
The One who made the mountains holds you steady throughout the changing seasons of your life.
Soul work isn’t easy. It’s certainly not where I thought I’d find myself at 60. Yet, here is where I am. Do what God puts in front of you.

Until my next post…
Be salty, stay lit.

I agree, as my own daughter continues to go downhill because of her health all I have to do is to trust God in this journey
