Christmas comes and goes, but waiting remains.
We celebrate that Christ has come but we also confess that all is not yet made new. The light has dawned as shadows still linger. This is the tension of our Christian hope in our 21st-century, post-pandemic, age of AI, Trumpian America.
Advent teaches us how to live between promise and fulfillment.
We wait for healing.
We wait for justice.
We wait for restoration.
We wait for Christ to return.
It’s a kind of waiting that is not passive. It takes practice. We live as people who believe God keeps His promises even when the calendar moves on and hope seems bleaker by the minute.
Advent does not end on December 25th. It morphs into a new way of living.
For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope.
Romans 8:24 ESV

Yes, and amen. We live in perpetual Advent, between the already and the not yet.

So true. We live in the waiting, trusting God’s promises even when the world feels heavy.
Hope in Christ carries us forward.

My pleasure, brother. Our waiting continues. As great and grand the first Advent is/was, I can’t imagine how magnificent the Second Coming will be. Thank you for your kind words of blessing. I pray the same for you and yours this beautiful day.

Thank you for sharing this important point Rainer. Christmas may be over, but our relationship with Father God continues as we wait on Him each day, and wait on His Son’s return – our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Christmas is only a part of the story…there is more to come! God bless you and Terri today 🙏
