10 Christian Blogging Topics for 2026

I started blogging back in 2008, shortly after rededicating my life to Christ in late 2007. This blog, The Devotional Guy™ launched near the end of 2013, around the time my niece, Natalie, died unexpectedly.

I had intended for this to be a space of Bible exposition and diving deep into Scripture. But God has a greater vision in store for me and my readers. It was a vision He slowly unpacked, post after post, shaped by real life experiences like grappling with the death of a 23 year old young woman and the harsh realities life leaves at our doorstep. I imagined unpacking the Bible, one book, one passage at a time. The Lord intended to use me (and teach me) something altogether bigger than that. 1700+ posts into this journey, it’s a lesson I’m still learning and also one I’m eternally grateful for experiencing.

As a Christian blogging in the post-pandemic, Trumpian era, Age of AI, there are so many rich topics that we can explore that resonate deeply with faith, community, and spiritual growth.

As we enter 2026, I complied a list of a few ideas I’ve been pondering and that I’m sharing with you. Each of them are rooted in biblical principles. My hope is they will fuel your blogging in the new year.

  1. Faith and Everyday Life: Write about integrating faith into daily routines. How does faith actually mix in with your life? How are you letting your light shine before others (Matthew 5:16)? Where are you falling short (Romans 3:23)? This is where the rubber meets the road.
  2. Prayer Practices: We can all get better at praying. Prayer isn’t something we perfect. You could share your insights on the importance of prayer, how prayer shapes your life, or how you’ve struggled to pray. Don’t airbrush your spiritual life in attempt to make it better than it is. Be real. Be authentic. Tell the truth. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
  3. Biblical Encouragement: Today, more than ever, people need encouragement. Focus on themes of hope and encouragement, drawing from Romans 15:13, which states, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.
  4. Service and Community: You can explore the call to serve others, sharing about volunteer opportunities you take part in, highlighting organizations doing good work, or what it’s like serving coffee or greeting people Sunday mornings. “Serve one another humbly in love.” (Galatians 5:13)
  5. Christian Ethics and Values: There is plenty happening in the world today that makes us examine our ethics and values. Speak into that conversation by discussing foundational Christian teachings on morality, grounded in Bible truth. Put some Bible on it!
  6. The Power of Forgiveness: As we’ve seen firsthand with Erica Kirk’s statement saying she forgives her husband Charlie’s killer, forgiveness is a powerful topic in our do unto you before you do unto me society. Offer reflections on the significance of forgiveness. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32)
  7. Overcoming Doubt: It’s not uncommon for Christians to experience doubt. Life has a way of beating confidence out of you. As a Christian blogger, you could explore struggles people have with their faith, similar to the account of Thomas in John 20:27, where Jesus invites him to “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.
  8. Stories of Faith: You can share personal testimonies or stories from others that illustrate God’s work in their lives, echoing Revelation 12:11, which speaks of triumphing over adversity by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. There are God stories happening all around us that need to be shared.
  9. Scriptural Insights: Naturally, as a student of the Word, you can provide commentary on specific Bible verses, encouraging readers to dive deeper into God’s Word. Perhaps you heard something in a sermon that piqued your ear and you were inspired to dig deeper into what the Bible says. Sharing that with your readers could be powerful and inspiring.
  10. Cultivating a Heart of Worship: My late friend, Pastor Mark, believed that worship was a lifestyle. It’s not just something we do Sunday mornings, but something we express every hour of every day. Our blogs are a perfect platform for exploring the essence of worship and what it means to live a lifestyle of worship

I believe that these topics can inspire meaningful conversations and guide our readers in their faith journey, drawing them closer to God and one another.

Until my next post…

Be salty, stay lit.
