An Unexpected Act of Kindness

Over Christmas, I bought us a new mini-desk calendar featuring daily affirmations. It’s been funny to me reading them and then questioning them. When I read some of them, I’m not sure I agree with them, let alone believe them.

The short daily mantras give me food for thought and open my mind to a different perspective. So there’s that.

A few days ago, when I walked out to our mailbox to get the mail, I received an unexpected surprise. In the mailbox was a relatively plain envelope with my name written on it. I opened it to find a book and a generously worded letter from someone I did not know nor had ever met.
