A #Lent26 Reflection
When I meet people it’s likely to be at a coffee shop. I meet people at Starbucks, Watermark Community Church, and Communion Coffee.
At the end of last summer my mainstay for hanging out, Staycation, closed due to our city reimagining the town center. Richardson has a lot of things. A historic downtown, in the sense that I grew up knowing in Marshall, hasn’t (pardon the pun) historically been part of that mix. But, that’s changing as the up and coming generation shifts from buying a house to apartment living.
Apartments are expensive (in my opinion) but, I guess less expensive than buying a house nowadays. This new generation of apartments often includes all the amenities and community activities like shopping, dining, and entertainment all in one place. You can work and play all in the same space.
Bah, humbug. I genuinely loved hanging out at my old local coffee shop and saw no need to tear it down.

But alas… I’ve had to adjust.
Life is like that sometimes. You have to adapt. The journey isn’t always a straight line from A to B.

During this #Lent26 season, where do you sense the need to adapt? What challenges do you need to overcome?

Until my next post…
Be salty, stay lit.
