Trauma

A poem

Trauma teaches you
to adjust
to tolerate
to survive

to make a home
inside what is breaking you.

As if endurance were the goal…

Really?

Just leave.

  2. I get it, taking my baggage with me. I want to dump it on the side of the raod and leave it behind. Why do I keep driving back there and pick it up again?

  3. Leaving trauma in the dust sounds like a good plan. I’ve often daydreamed of moving to the isolated island of Saint Helena. It’s literally 1700 nautical miles from anywhere. It’s too bad I’d be packing my emotions along with me. I get it, brother, and my trauma meter is likely lower than yours. 🙏blessings.
